Worship

Q: When I come to Sunday Worship, will I hear rock music and see the pastor on a big screen?

NO, BUT YOU WILL HEAR EXCEPTIONAL MUSIC FROM CLASSICAL TO JAZZ TO GOSPEL AND GLOBAL. THE MINISTER WILL DELIVER THE SERMON WALKING AROUND AND WITHOUT NOTE CARDS.

When you worship with us at United Church of Santa Fe, expect:

To begin by breathing in God's gifts of peace, hope and love.
To encounter God at the heart of life.
To be encouraged to live out your faith as you go into the world.
To be transformed by the Holy Spirit.

Since 1987 we have been led in worship by Reverend Talitha Arnold. Our congregation is fortunate to have a pastor who exhibits a passion for the Word, who brings Hope during times of crisis, and a dedication to community spiritual growth. As a native of Arizona, she brings a clear, Southwestern perspective to the unique needs of a Santa Fe church. After graduating from Pomona College and Yale Divinity School, she served as Associate Minister for the historic UCC Church in Middletown, Connecticut. In Santa Fe, she volunteers to serve on numerous community nonprofit organizations, writes frequently for The New Mexican, Albuquerque Journal North/Santa Fe, and other publications.

It is no surprise that Talitha has received many awards honoring her excellence and dedication. Awards include: Outstanding Recent Alum from Yale Divinity School, a Louisville Institute Fellowship, Pastors of Excellence Fellowship from the Lilly Endowment, and the Santa Fe Human Rights Award, among others.

Talitha's love of music is evident in worship, but she also takes time to sing with the Santa Fe Symphony Chorus and at the Berkshire Choral Festival. Hobbies include hiking, reading, cooking, travel and spending time with good friends. She always takes time to be with her dog "Bella", considered by most to be the official Church mascot.

“O come let us worship and bow down ...”
Psalms 95:6.

WE GO OUT IN PEACE

Go out into the world in peace
Have courage.
Hold on to what is good.
Return no one evil for evil.
Strengthen the fainthearted.
Support the weak.
Help the suffering.
Honor all persons.
Love and serve the Lord,
rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit,
And may the love of God,
    the light of Christ
        and the power and
communion of that Spirit
        be with us all.
Go in peace, Amen.
