Stewardship

Q: Want to find ways to give thanks to God and deepen your faith?

United Church offers many ways for you to share your blessings with the wider world. Just as God blessed Abraham so that he might go and be a blessing, we at United share our God-given blessings with others.

At United, many of us find that committed giving of our financial resources is an essential spiritual discipline, one that deepens our faith in God as it also helps others.

The United Church is almost wholly sustained by the yearly pledges of members and friends. Without such generosity our ministries of worship, education, outreach and welcoming are simply not possible. But with this generosity the United Church continues to grow, sharing the life-giving power of God’s love with an ever-wider circle.

Q: Why pledge?

First and foremost, pledging to your faith community is an expression of your hope for our ministry together.

Second, pledging also allows United to plan for the year ahead, so we can create a budget that empowers us to do the things God calls us to do.

Q: Are there other ways to give?

Yes! One-time gifts often help fund special programs. You can make them in honor of someone important to you, or in memory of someone who has blessed your life.

United currently has several endowment funds to which you may choose to contribute. Our Music Fund supports the vibrant Music Ministry that enriches us all. Our Landscaping Fund helps us to renew God’s Creation by beautifying our grounds. There are other funds open to your contribution, or you may want to start a new fund. Please consult with the Senior Minister to discern how best to make an honorary or memorial gift.

Many of our endowments began with bequests from the estates of members and friends. Remembering the United Church in your will leaves a lasting legacy, one that offers God’s love through the United Church to future generations.

Above all, know that whatever you decide to give, your pledge will be well used in support of United’s ministry in this world.

“You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity,
which will produce thanksgiving to God through us. Thanks be to God!”
